Is God a Liar? (Genesis 2-3)--and Related Matters

James Barr

   Abstract

Do some interpretations of Genesis 2-3 have the effect that God is made out to be a liar? It has been suggested that this would be the result of the present writer's proposals. The subject is not one belonging to narrow biblical research; rather, it has roots in the history of theology and raises important philosophical questions.
